It's been FOUR YEARS since we celebrated a leap day. Still, today is a day unlike any other and just like every other turn of the sun and moon. How many of us can look back across decades and pinpoint each February 29th? What we remember is much more rare, deeper, brighter, darker: When did we take a leap of faith, plunge into the unknown, or step out of the ordinary? What happens between intensity, opportunity, and outcomes are the small, sweet, daily opportunities to be present and trust that each moment is precious, beautiful, and EXACTLY what we have chosen to learn more about our purpose in this life and the possibilities beyond it. TODAY is a wonderful day to remember that tomorrow may not come; yesterday may be farther away than years ago; and when we LEAP, we don't know how or where we'll fly. We only TRUST that this is a rare and beautiful opportunity to enjoy this moment, NOW. I have a theory that our world view would change if we walked around naked. That's very simplistic, I know. Obviously, it would take away our armor and show us how alike we are from the inside out. I deeply believe that when we recognize what we share, our world becomes brighter. When we focus on what we need to protect, we build walls, which generally lets in less light. It takes much more effort to build and bash walls than it might to simply stand and hold out with Love. I won't stand for What you stand for Who you stand with --- Push and Pull. Understand that my Last Stand must be Love. DonnaMarie Fekete, 27 February 2016 There may be times you don't think you're very spiritual. You may think "people like that" chant in ancient languages, wear rainbow tie-dye togas, braid bells in their hair, and are generally pretty out of touch with the real world. Perhaps you think they quote esoterica and have callouses on their knees from the hours they spend worshiping at shrines. Whether or not that is true, what really teaches us about SPIRIT? I believe we're completely spiritual, especially when we lose ourselves in laughter, become fascinated at what jiggles when we dance, or remember laying on the grass and rolling down hills the way we did when we were toddlers. In real life, spirituality is where we lose our sense of being watched and weighted, and become captivated by what is happening here and now. The only condition I'd put on it, is that we might want to say "thanks" when we realize we've had one of those moments. They happen really quickly, and can leave in a heartbeat. Lately, I've been surprised by the significance of instants: A dad helping his daughter into her backpack; buntings dancing around crumbs tossed on the ground; a toy appearing from a melting snowbank; mud patterns splashed on sidewalk. These moments rolled out as the acronym in the image: "THANK YOU, Now!" Train yourself. Humbly become Aware. Noticing Keeps connecting Yes! to One Uplifting Moment: NOW! Funny, when I think of it, "NOW" (when my focus freezes, linear time stands still, and I recognize eternity in an instant) might be another name for God.
